Microsoft gives Gold Members Bioshock downloadable content early

For those of you who've decided to throw down some cash and get an Xboxlive gold account will now have something new to be happy about during the next update as new down-loadable content will be exclusive to gold members only the first week of its release. However silver members aren't exactly thrilled.

While this isn't too bad for the casual gamer, this new update will more than irk those that go on xboxlive for content and demos for highly anticipated games as they will have to wait an extra week just to be eligible to download the content and that's not counting the time it would take to download.

Many a gamer can remember the wait times for downloading the bioshock demo, and now with new plasmids and missions content being released soon, gamers with the silver account are either just gonna have to pass the 168 hours (7 days) twiddling their thumbs thinking about new content or fork over some money and pick up a gold account.

If the two accounts had the same privileges, then there would be no point to pay for one type and not the other. So what are the silver members whinging about? They have to wait a week for a luxury we don't require to live. Boo hoo.

That may be the case but there are some of us, (including me) that like to get on Xboxlive but can only do so during limited times in the year and therefore don't have a reason to fork over the 20.00 for how many months, gold account and I don't want to have to play beat the clock and not be able to for some months, especially if it's something I'm wanting to get such as the new bioshock which content will be free if I remember correctly

Plus the gold account already has privieges over the silver account such as online play and whatever else is out there, if it was for points download stuff that was free or cost less for gold members then fine but I like free stuff and I like new free stuff and I like getting new free stuff in a timely fashion.

I can't go on Xbox live all the time either, I don't even have a working wireless adapter. But 50 bucks for 12 months of subscription is worth it, considering you'd spend 8 bucks per month if you just bought one-month cards when you felt like it. And I don't want to spend 50 bucks a year so you can get the same stuff as me.

Corrine: What's wrong with your adapter?

I downloaded the update last night. I can play AVI's and MP4's now. It's a bit harsh, but I agree. I wouldn't pay £5.99 every month if I could have it at the same time.

Well... I ain't complaining.

I downloaded the new content for Bioshock, but I've yet to try it out. On top of the extra plasmids and upgrades, the game also comes with proper widescreen support now, which is very good news.
