Microsoft announced plans earlier today in a Japanese press conference to drop the price of the Xbox 360 in Japan across the board.
The cost of an Arcade model will be dropping 8,000 yen ($73.92) to 19,800 yen. This new price will make the SKU significantly cheaper than the Wii in the regions, which sells for around 25,000 yen, and PS3, which sells for 39,800 yen.
Microsoft will also be reducing the price of the two larder models of the 360, with significantly larger hard drives by 5,000 - 8,000 yen, the paper said.

Damn, those lucky guys. I wouldn't mind a price drop here. :P
Looks like Microsoft are serious about etching out a bigger slice of the market over there... |
