Square-Enix reveals its E3 2008 lineup

To the delight of fans of the developer across the globe. Square-Enix have announced their line-up for 2008`s E3. SE seems set to please both long-time fans and possible new gamers with the extensive list, including games familiar to fans and a few new games, all of which spread across several different platforms.

"With simultaneous global releases for several platforms on their way, gamers around the world will be able to experience the full grandeur of our games as never before. Additionally, Square Enix has offerings at this year`s E3 for every gamer, from fan favorites newly available on portable platforms to casual games accessible to a wide range of users."

That was from SEs president, John Yamamoto, regarding the line-up at E3. Among the new games announced are: two Star Oceans, First Departure and Second Evolution, for the PSP, Taito Corporation`s Exit and The Legend of Kage 2, both for the DS, and a game for the Ipod called Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes.

Song Summoner will be playable at a kiosk at the display for SE at Concourse 401, July 15—17. At the Convention Center in Los Angeles there will also be playable Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest: The Chapters of the Chosen, Final Fantasy IV and Infinite Discovery. Below is a breakdown of the games by platform and some additional details for each game below that.

Nice work Dawny, lots of good info here.

Looking forward to both Star Oceans and FFIV. I've wanted to play the SO games since I played 3 which was a good game and it ill b nice to have some more decent RPGs on PSP.

I'd bet they'll have a closed theater, or some sort of secret way of releasing info on it. It's such a big-name title that not saying anything would be stupid.

Honestly, I think they're going to hold out on anything like that until the Tokyo Game Show. That's usually where a big splash for something like this will have the biggest impact.

Still a decent line up for E3 though, if nothing particularly spectacular.

I'm glad to see we'll be given some more information about Chrono Trigger for the DS. Hopefully the DS gameplay that's going to be implemented won't feel tacked on just for the hell of it.
