Since when did the rumors/reports/announcements of games become more important than the actual games themselves? If the game's ready to be announced, it's ready. If it's not, it's not. Gamers should worry less about every little morsol of info they get about a game and more about whether the game is good when it comes out. |

Ever since Sony went OMGGOW3IMAGESTHATAREN'TEVENINGAME during their press confrence. I have a jaded Sony fanboy who used that, among other things, to say why Nintendo phails. :P I personally agree with Nintendo. Then they'd pull a Twilight Princess all over again, and the people who bitched this year would still bitch. It's a lose-lose for Nintendo, sadly. |

How about an apology for the lack of hardcore titles, period? This year's E3 = Epic Fail. |

I wasn't disapointed about not seeing them two, I was dissapointed about snot seeing some "real" games (btw, I do like casual titles, I just want both :P). TBH, I don't think it should be left to Mario and Link alone to carry the flag of "hardcore" games. And another annoying thing, what's with the announcements mad just after E3? i.e. The new Wii sonic game. |

If you bought a Wii for hardcore titles in the first place... you should really only be apologizing to yourself. Otherwise, you still have great titles to look forward to. |

Nintendo's show was the worst ever. It beats "giant enemy crab" for me. They basically told us, "We're just fine over here in casual land. You can come over, but we'll eventually get back over there....maybe." The game selection was horrible. It was all really kind of dumb games that just try to make you look even stupider while playing. Where was the good stuff like Monster Hunter, Fatal Frame, and I could have used more Mad World. Granted these games are one in a thousand, but I still want to play them. The Zelda and Mario announcements didn't really resonate with me. So what would the Zelda and Mario teams being doing otherwise? Of course their not going to wait around on those titles. I am more curious to actually see what they are working on and what is next for Metroid. |

I don't understand why people are expecting a new Zelda or Mario title just because it's E3. Look at previouos Nintendo consoles: The N64 and GC only had one Mario title each, with 2 and 3 Zelda titles respectively during their "run". There's more to Nintendo than just Zelda and Mario, and Nintendo is actually doing their best to break that stereotype, but for some reason the "hardcore" collection of gamers are too damned stubborn to realise this. |

This may surprise the outdated "hardcore" gamer, but there are many, many, many people out there who don't want to be bogged down by complex game mechanics, extravagant game controllers, and dozens of different gameplay variations. They just want to have some fun, and they don't care if they look stupid. When my entire family is interacting around this console and actually helping us bond in a fun and enjoyable way, I'm not going to complain. And in the case of my own family, that's exactly what's happening. They certainly ain't bonding over Metal Gear Solid 3 and Halo 3. |

I agree. The year I got my Wii. My family spent 4-5 hours on wii sports. It was nice. |

Outdated? Odd choice of words. I am merely stating my opinion on my behalf. I was not impressed by their display. I am sure many families enjoy the casual titles out there; I don't. Would I rather play Zelda or Wii Sports. I am going to choose the former. I enjoy more hardcore games then casual. The casual games I do enjoy are more quarky then simplistic. I don't think we should all come to love these casual games that Nintendo and others put out though. Some people may enjoy them, but not everyone will. For the company that raised many of us we are looking for reasons to still love them. Many of us have a hard time doing that. |

I'm not saying your view is outdated, I'm saying this "hardcore is the only valid form of gaming" attitude is outdated. "Casual" gaming has been on the rise for years. I for one am certainly not going to suddenly throw away my entire games collection just so I can play Wii Sport, and I think any gamer would be stupid to do that. I'm simply saying that there's no reason we can't have both
There was only one Mario platformer game on the N64 and GameCube. There was only two Zeldas on the N64 (one of which used half the location from the first, great game as it might be), and one on the GameCube. But you know what? Those games are so ****ing good I don't care if I have to wait five years between each one. The DS also has its fair share of core titles from Nintendo. You can't deny that. People are acting like this is something new from Nintendo, when its really not. |

TBH, that may be why I was never the biggest Nintendo fan. | |||
