E3 2008: Star Wars: The Clone Wars released Christmas 2008

The video game adaptation of the new Star Wars: Clone Wars movie is being released on the Wii this Christmas.

This is the game all Star Wars fans have been waiting for, as you can finally use your Wiimote as a fully functioning lightsaber.

Unlike the swordplay in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, where you shook the Wiimote to make Link swing his sword, Clone Wars directly translates your Wiimote's motions into swordplay on the screen.

It started development before the Motionplus was revealed, so I think it's unlikely.

Thats a shame, It could have really benefitted from that too.

Yeah, and from what I've seen of screenshots, the game seems to play almost like a traditional fighter game, so how they're going to do it all will be interesting.

Could be fun to play, but something didn't look quite right <_<

I'd be surprised if this *didn't* use the Motion Plus.

That's kinda the point of the device, isn't it?

But hey, it's a lightsaber game on the Wii! What is there to complain about with that?!

The new Wii Sports is being released Spring 2009, so I'd guess they might be able to pre-code the stuff for it, and have it be "enabled" when MP is released, but it's being released near the end of the year...

I wonder how they're going to do some of the duels without force feedback in the controllers. A huge part of lightsaber combat is when two sabers crash together and there's a struggle for the upper hand

Sorry, I can just see it now, two people in the same room each trying to epically struggle for the upperhand.
*PUNCH*
...
....
WIN.
