Katsuya Eguchi spoke about the newest Animal Crossing title being released for the Wii: "City Folk".
Katsuya's presentation, along with a gameplay video of the game presented some new developments for the Animal Crossing franchise.
You are now no longer limited to your own town, but can also visit a larger city, which you travel to by bus. Here you can go shopping, get your hair done or visit familiar characters from the Animal Crossing series, like Daisy the fashion giraffe.
The game also comes bundled with a community microphone called "Wiispeak". This allows you to voice chat with other players. The video showed a multiplayer game where players had a fishing contest, while using the Wiispeak to communicate with each other.

Hoozah, I always wanted to be able to leave my own town.
No news on whether it will use the Wild World on DS for anything though, Im sure gamers want all thier hard work to be used for SOMETHING. |

Meh, looks like more of the same to me.
That'll be good to a lot of people, but I'm not interested... |

This may be true, but I'm really glad they're taking advantage of the machine's capabilities in some fun ways.
I'm especially glad they're including voice chat. Animal Crossing is a social game, and they're clearly aware of the franchise's strength in that area.
I loved the past two titles, and I definately can't wait for this. |
