As it prepares to lauch the newest installments of Madden, Fifa, Tiger Woods, Need for Speed, Fight Night... etc. etc. etc., Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello steps forward and gets on his soapbox, criticizing the industry for rehashing ideas and games over and over, with little innovation, whilst everyone else is in on the joke.
"For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat," Riccitiello calmly pointed out, completely failing to realise that the company he is chairman of is the one responsible for this ongoing industry problem in the first place, "There's been lots of products that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before."
Examples: Tiger Woods. Fight Night. Madden. Need for Speed.
At least Electronic Arts has one unique idea on its belt right now; Will Wright hotly anticipated evolution simulator, Spore. Now if only they didn't keep
pulling back Spore's release date so much.

Damn. That's kind of like Bill Clinton calling Hugh Hefner a horndog, ain't it?

It's kind of like Duke Nukem calling Master Chief a macho.
He really should be the last person in this entire world to be criticising people about "rehashing ideas" and "lacking innovation". |
